Bahamas with Blackbeard's Cruises

January 4 - 10, 2003

Now sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip

That started from a tropic port , aboard a tiny ship ...

The mate was a mighty sailing man , The skipper brave and sure

Twenty passengers set sail on Saturday, for a six day Bahamas cruise...

a six day Bahamas cruise

January 4 - At sea... heading for the Berries.... "The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed..." We slept (or at least tried to.)

January 5 - Calm seas, cool breezes, in the Berries

Sea Gardens - It starts in 15' and drops off to 40' before rising and then dropping to 90' and then slopes off to the wall.

Shark Hollow -

Throne of Wo -

January 6 - New Providence

Cutter Wall - Had to skip this dive, as I just couldn't seem to keep my weights in my BC.

Schooner Wall -

Periwinkles -

January 7 - New Providence to the Berries

The seas were not very kind, as they battered us mercilessly. By the time we made it to Whale Cay, our morning dive would have been at 4 P.M. Most of us hit the beach , as the ship was grounded on a sand bar. So with a lovely deserted island beach, and nothing better to do ... we had a beach party that lasted till midnight.

January 8 - Whale Cay

Whale Point Dropoff -

"Off the Wall" Wall -

Cathedral Ledge -

Port night party at "the Mountaintop"

January 9 - Still in the Berries

Angel Town - Dinner party for the sharks, but they didn't RSVP. It was still a great dive.

Heading back to Miami -

From Miami, Melanie and I drove across the state to Crystal River for a day of snorkeling with the Manatee's.
